5Students can learn the theory of childcare to support children’s growth and development. They can see their learning progress at each point. In addition, with a consistent curriculum, we provide not only interesting but also highly specialist classes. All students have the possibility to become a childcare professional. As long as they like to care for children; even if they are a beginner, they can be a professional, because our faculty teaches carefully and logically. Since the establishment of the department in 1969, students who have graduated now work at kindergartens, nursery schools and welfare institutions.Offering courses and course units to learn knowledge and practical skills which are useful in many business f ields.In this department, students focuses on learning fundamental skills that are needed in modern society.In addition, they learn “skills for living” through practical exercises and seminar classes across a wide range of business fields such as finance, secretarial skills, aviation, medical assistant, bridal, hotel and the fashion industry. They also choose their interests from 10 course units and a “Life Design Course”,“Office Course”, “Hospitality Course” and“English Communication Course” in order to improve their professional knowledge and skills.Through our step-by-step learning method, every student can check their learning progress, and can become a childcare professional.Exploring mental health issues caused by living in a modern societyWe provide a practical program with students to explore clinical psychology with experienced clinical instructors, in order that they can become professional psychotherapists upon graduation. We aim to train psychotherapists who can meet current needs including relieving concern and anxiety caused by living in modern society. After graduating from SIU, you will be eligible to take “the licensed psychotherapist” exam.For health maintenance and promotion by sportsStudents learn scientific theory, teaching skills and practical theory related to health maintenance and promotion by sports. The main goal is to train students to become sports instructors with practical teaching skills.
