9It may be possible for international students to rent an apartment by themselves, but in Japan, you need a “guarantor” to rent an apartment. Also, no furniture is provided in rental housing in Japan so you need to buy necessary appliances and furniture. We therefore recommend you to live in a rental apartment provided by the university.We gather used furniture and home appliances from university faculty and graduates and give priority to international students who are starting new lives in Sapporo. Students are required to take a level check test in advance so that they can take classes appropriate to their level. By obtaining the permission, students may work part-time for up to 28 hours per week (or up to 8 hours per day during school vacation periods).
